Financial Analysis of Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra FY 2017-2019

For SASS 425: Nonprofit Financial Management, we spent a good chunk of the Spring 2022 semester on financial analysis projects in which we dove into three years of tax form 990 for selected nonprofit organizations. I chose the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and benchmarked it against the Houston Symphony, Nashville Symphony Orchestra, and Louisville Orchestra. I chose these because I am from Louisiana, I have been to the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, I have been to Houston (but not to seen the symphony yet), and I wanted to see how symphonies are doing in the South.

What came from that work was a financial analysis spreadsheet, basic analysis, income statement trend analysis, balance sheet analysis, benchmark analysis, and the (visually updated) presentation shared below.
